ARCS EN CIEL
A few words about the Arcs En Ciel Paragliding School
The Arcs En Ciel Paragliding School is located in the heart of the Haute Tarentaise valley in the town of Bourg-Saint-Maurice. This strategic location means it can offer visitors a wide range of outdoor activities as it is at the crossroads of major resorts such as Les Arcs, Tignes, Val d’Isere and La Rosiere. It is also convenient for valleys such as Peisey-Nancroix which offer access to the Vanoise National Park.
The Arcs En Ciel School came into being in 1993 (yes, it's already more than 20 years old!!) just as paragliding was taking off as an activity. We are in a valley which benefits from a "mountain" type of aerology with a multitude of sites facing in different directions and flights with differing altitude ranges (from 500 to 1,600 metres) are possible. These mountain sites allow us to adapt our teaching to the various stages of learning, offering everyone from complete novices to experienced gliders both calm morning flights with a major altitude change or much more sporty thermal flights depending on the time of takeoff. And another thing, (but don't tell everyone!) the evening flight taking off from Peisey-Vallandry remains a magical memory for all those gliders who have flown here. The Arcs En Ciel staff, comprising six qualified pilots some of whom have been with us since the beginning, will be able to guide your progress and choose the sites best suited to the day's weather.
